All of PAT Testing Expert's courses are taught by Tim James - widely regarded as the UK's leading expert in the field of PAT Testing, and who has been working in the field for more than 30 years! Our courses are not lectures, but interactive training events with a combination of theory and practical. During the day, we provide access to a wide range of industry standard PAT Testers, so you can learn on a standard machine. If you have a PAT Tester already you're welcome to bring it with you and if not, we'll give you the best advice on choosing a suitable machine for your use.

We cover testing of all portable appliances, including IT equipment, industrial equipment including 3 phase, power tools including 230V and 110V as well as domestic and commercial equipment.

We usually run several courses each year at Edinburgh, so there is probably one coming up soon! We also run courses at the Hilton hotel in Glasgow, and all of our Scotland dates are available to view below.

The course includes a mix of practical and theory, so you can practice straight away, and we give you the skills to carry out PAT testing with confidence once you have attended the course. Our course is not a lecture, but a practical based course which gives you vital experience in the subject. We limit the numbers on the course to ensure that everybody benefits from the day.

You don't need prior experience of electricity - and you certainly don't need to be a qualified electrician to carry out PAT Testing. Our course starts right at the beginning.

Our PAT Testing course in Edinburgh is held at the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel. This venue has comfortable training rooms (air conditioned) with great facilities. A buffet lunch is provided, as well as plenty of tea, coffee and cold drinks during the day. The venue also offers free parking for our delegates, or there are frequent buses and Trams to the hotel from the centre of Edinburgh. The hotel website will give you more information.
