Relevant, Practical, Hands-On Training

You don’t need to be an electrician, or have any formal electrical background, to learn how to carry out safe and effective PAT testing. Our training starts from absolute basics and builds your confidence step-by-step, giving you the practical skills you actually need without drowning you in complicated theory.

At PAT Testing Expert, our courses are designed to be clear, hands-on and genuinely useful. We combine straightforward explanations with live demonstrations and plenty of practical testing time, so you leave with a proper working knowledge of how to test appliances safely and correctly. We focus on the real-world essentials – the things you’ll use every day – rather than overwhelming you with pages of technical detail that add little value in practice.

All of our training is fully up-to-date with the latest industry guidance. That includes the current IET Code of Practice, the new BS EN 50678 and BS EN 50699 standards, and the most recent advice from the HSE and other relevant bodies. But don’t worry – we translate all of this into plain English, so you understand what’s required of you and how to apply it properly without getting lost in jargon.

We don't have un-named instructors - every one of our courses is taught by Tim James with over 30 years experience in the business of PAT Testing.

Everyone who attends receives a comprehensive information pack, including our full-colour handbook and PAT Testing Guide. This gives you a clear reference to use after the course and removes the need to purchase costly textbooks unless you choose to.

Our aim is simple: to give you the knowledge, confidence and practical skill to carry out PAT testing competently, safely and in line with modern standards – without making things more complicated than they need to be.
